I just wanted to say thank you for your generosity and patience in sharing your extradorinaiy relationship with wood last week. I loved the experience of being in your beautiful workshop and felt physically and mentally challenged, which was wonderful! I love my milking stool and will always treasure it. I’ll never look at a piece of wood the same way again.
Leah Burke
Thank you for your kindness, perseverance and wisdom through wood. You've fired a new passion in me. I will be shouting your praises far and wide.

The whole course was a wonderful experience, so much better than I imagined it could be. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge (& love of) working wood in the way that you do. And for your patience. I could ramble on but I really cannot express how much I enjoyed my time in your workshop.

Just wanted to pass on Tom and my thanks for a fantastic day. We loved the whole experience and the beautiful surrounds. Also seriously in love with some of your tools. Hope to see you again some time soon.

Hi Alex, Just wanted to once again express my deepest gratitude and highlight the overwhelming appreciation I have for the experience over the last 4 days. Your exemplary teaching methods and skillful mentoring traits are highly admirable, the layout, ambiance and embodiment of the holistic ethics which you so generously offer create an engagement that is truly special. At the end of the course, not only does it leave potential for growth in so many ways but also keenly develops integral values for a plethora of skills, resources and connections. Thank you for offering your teachings in such a humbling and selfless way, your passion is positively infectious!!!
Garry Wolfeden
Very much appreciated the simple, practical, thoughtful approach to the delivery of the course. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Thanks Alex. The weekend was a truly memorable experience, a privilege to share your wisdom. I’ll try to take a little of what I learned into most of what I do. I hope to be back to make a chair sometime too.

"We did a 7 day workshop and had an amazing time. We went from a standing tree (new trees planted of course) to a stool and all sorts of other things by the end of the week, including our own pole lathe and draw horse. The setting is amazing, out in the bush surrounded by wildlife and forest, one could not find a more suitable location for this sort of thing. If you've ever thought of doing something like this then I highly recommend it.' (Green woodworking forum)

I can't believe how much I learnt about wood and how amazed I was at how little I must have absorbed from my father who was probably the best pattern maker this country has ever produced. We all had a great time. The group didn't stop talking about it all the way home. Several said they were surprised how much fun it was and would not have missed it for the world. The way you handle the people is a credit to you. We all learnt so much. Thanks again for a great weekend."

"I am soooo thrilled to see my boys this excited! Both said it's the best Xmas present they have ever had....thank you so much. Your set up sounds absolutely wonderful, in fact unique and that is what's missing from this world, there is so much mass produced garbage and so little that is 'unique'."

"Our 4 days in Tasmania were wonderful, inspiring, wild, relaxing…the highlight being our day with you. Lou and I were on a real high when we got back to the cabin Saturday night and couldn't stop talking about the day and admiring the door stops and spoon that we had made. We have been showing them off proudly to our friends and family and highly recommending that they go to Tassie and spend a day with you soaking up some wisdom through wood."

"I haven't seen Dad as excited as he was the day he got back from the course in a long time. He was so keen to tell us all about it. I think he appreciated the whole experience and learned a great deal that he will put to good use working with green wood in the future. From what he has told me the balance between teaching, guidance and giving participants space to do their own thing very much suited Dad and he spoke very positively about your lovely venue."

"Just a quick note to say that I spoke with Al last night and he was so appreciative and blown away by the experiences over the weekend.... I think he's still processing the whole thing. But he said what was particularly special and such a highlight of the whole weekend was meeting you. Pia was in tears when he gave her the Welsh love spoon he made. During the week he went to the workshop and drilled a few holes and said he noticed the distinct lack of spirituality, that it felt like he was doing year 12 maths…..I'm guessing that means mechanical and soulless!!!! I'd really love to thank you sooooo much for making it such a special day, he was so inspired from - chatting with you, being around you and learning from/with you. He has been profoundly moved and said that it will stay with him for the rest of his life.
Thank you for being so open and generous and for allowing us into your space. I loved meeting you and really enjoyed the whole experience. I've already applied some of the little insights....perhaps even wisdoms that I discovered on the day into how I approach my everyday tasks."

"Just a belated thank you for the amazing course. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and learned more in the time I had there than I could have imagined possible. Two days simply flew. The patience and attention shown by you was greatly appreciated, as was the level of your knowledge and understanding. What you are doing there is, in many ways, very special and I hope you continue in perpetuity. "

"One of the best experiences I've had. Learnt just as much about myself as I did about working with wood. Alex is a great teacher, and what a beautiful environment to learn in. I'd never attempted anything like this before, but I'm now hooked. Thanks Alex."
Simon Allen
Empathetic teaching, fantastic knowledge of the subject matter. I left feeling massively empowered to tackle my own bush building projects.

"Alex, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and spend time with you. You have the patience of a saint! I was so enthralled by the whole experience, and have spoken of nothing else since I got home. My stool looks perfect in the kitchen, exactly how I imagined it, it’s slightly unusual top and different legs will be a talking point for years to come."
