MAKE SIMPLE FURNITURE: JOINERY AND STOOL MAKING.
Over two days, you’ll learn the principles of green wood joinery—a cornerstone of traditional woodworking techniques. We begin the first day by riving our stool legs from a log and shaping them with axes and drawknives before turning the legs to shape on a pole lathe. On day two we learn to construct strong, lasting mortise and tenon joints and build a stool that is both beautiful and functional. Enjoy the reward of sitting on a piece of furniture you made yourself.

At the start of the course I’ll explain the types of risks you could face in green woodworking and how to manage them. During the course we’ll remind each other. If you have any concerns during the course please speak up. I don’t want you to do anything you think or feel is unsafe. Please tell me if you feel anxious or concerned about what I’m doing, you’re doing or another person is doing.
