TASTER COURSES

Perfect for beginners and those curious about sustainable woodworking practices, our taster courses offer an opportunity to try traditional woodworking techniques with the joy of creating something by hand. These experiences run between 2hours to half a day and offer an enjoyable group or family activity.

SHORT COURSES

Our short courses are one or two days long and offer a richer woodworking experience. Starting with a fresh log we learn about and practice with the essential hand tools used in green woodworking. A perfect way to start your woodworking journey.

LONGER COURSES

Our longer courses are immersive experiences designed to introduce a wider range of tools and techniques. The longer courses are not more difficult, they simply go into more detail and offer an opportunity to grow your skills with greater practice. All our longer courses include time to plant a tree in acknowledgement of the life cycle that we intersect as woodworkers, and with a thought towards the needs of future woodworkers.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

Participant working outdoors in the lush green forest surrounds of the Wisdom Through Wood workshop.

The whole course was a wonderful experience, so much better than I imagined it could be. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge (& love of) working wood in the way that you do. And for your patience. I could ramble on but I really cannot express how much I enjoyed my time in your workshop.

— Simon Ginger

A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

I just wanted to say thank you for your generosity and patience in sharing your extraordinary relationship with wood last week. I loved the experience of being in your beautiful workshop and felt physically and mentally challenged, which was wonderful! I love my milking stool and will always treasure it. I’ll never look at a piece of wood the same way again.

— Jane Unwin

THANK YOU!
